The only real sudden death race is in the final. I think we can live with that. Practically all other sports do! It would be better if the top 2 from each lower round went into the next round. Perhaps carrying 7 and 8 points. This keeps the regatta more alive on the last day and improves the potential for big gains on the last day just as we get in many conventional regattas.
